If you own a small business with an older HTML coded “static” website, you have probably considered the idea of a content management website. In this economy, it seems hard enough to simply pay taxes, insurance, payroll and advertising costs. Can you afford a new business website? The bigger question is can you afford not to?  Your static site is costing you more than you think.

Unless you have enough knowledge to update your site, you are most likely using a Webmaster for every change or addition and paying from $50.00 to $150.00 per hour. This means small business are spending allot of their hard earned money over time or putting off necessary updates leaving their site content outdated.

A content management system (CMS) is a data driven web application used for managing websites and its content. Users can add or edit content, upload and add images or files, and manage critical data in order to keep their websites alive with fresh, up-to-date content. There are hundreds of modules and extensions, which can expand your site’s usability & functionality. These additions can be adopted at any time.

A CMS sitewill keep track of every piece of content on your Website. Content can be anything from simple text, photos, documents, searchable directories, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge by the user to manage. A good website design and development firm will include training on how to use your CMS site.

The Content Management Systems allow small business owners to cost-effectively update their websites in real-time, keeping their long-term costs down.
